Vegetable gardeners love to make fun of their abundant zucchini harvests, but they plant and grow them anyway.

Zucchini is just one group of summer squash rackets that also includes yellow straightnecks , scallops , and jaundiced crooknecks . All of these squash rackets get on short - vining bushes , pump out beautiful yellow squash blossoms and can be ready to harvest in as little as 40 days .

They ’re also quite prolific . That means when you add a few squash plants to the vegetable garden you ’ll need some kitchen breathing in .

Here are some of my well ideas for bask zucchinis and icteric summer squash while they ’re at the heyday of perfection :

Whatever you do , do n’t let a individual summer squash go to waste ! If there ’s just too many to employ , donate the surplus zucchini and summer squeeze to a food pantry in your neighbourhood .
