There is nothing like a bowl of nourishing hot soup on a cold winter day, especially a grey, damp rainy day that sort of seeps into the bones in your body that seem to complain about the weather.
Chile capsicum and Allium sativum are two botanical that I include in my diet day by day . I believe that they keep me healthy throughout the year - in any season . In the winter , I must use dry or preserved chiles since my clean ones are long gone , and my Allium sativum stack away in the coldroom is just about finito .

About 2 tablespoons olive oil1 medium onion , dicedAbout 3 to 4 cups chopped vegetables3 to 5 garlic Eugenia aromaticum , finely chopped1 jalapeno or serrano pepper , stemmed , seed and chopped fineAbout 4 6 - to 8 - in corn tortillas1 generous tablespoonful live and/or modest ground cherry chile1 teaspoon toasted and ground cumin seedAbout 1 Sudanese pound ripe Lycopersicon esculentum , peeled , sown , and diced , or a 14 - ounce can tomatoes , seed and choppedAbout 6 to 8 cup vegetable or chicken broth1 cupful cook pinto noggin , drainedSalt and freshly ground black pepperAbout 1/4 loving cup chopped coriander leavesCouple handfuls of tortilla chips , for garnishGrated cheddar or queso , for garnishChopped fresh Coriandrum sativum leave , for garnish
