A garden to be seen from inside
My name is Mary Murphy . I garden in Minnetonka , Minnesota . wintertime can be a challenge , so while I ’m dreaming of flower , I must be content with winter view . I love blow , but it can get tiresome , so here is a lilliputian narration about my kitchen windowpane and the ice lanterns I ’ve made this wintertime .
Much of my garden inspiration has been determined by the vista from my kitchen window . I pass an excessive amount of time there cooking and lavation dishes , so it has been of the furthest importance to embellish that panorama .
During the growing season , it is promiscuous to keep Dubya and flowers plentiful , and annuals in pots can always be depend on . Over the age , I have planted a host of beautiful plants , starting with hostas and hydrangea and a little reddish pine .

I have overlaid with Narcissus pseudonarcissus , tulips , iris , lily , rose , delphinium , and hosts of annuals ranging from nursery petunias , snapdragons , alyssum , verbena , dianthus , asters , lobelia , and more .
Peonies add to the scene .
I enjoy to grow from seed . knight bachelor buttons , cosmos , zinnias , hollyhocks ( above ) , and sunflowers ( below ) are my favourite .

It seems I always have something splendid to reckon at while doing my chores .
Winter , however , is more of a challenge . I get it on snow , but it can pretty much count the same for months on end . I depart a tidy sum of growth for wintertime interest , but I do drop all the colour of the growing season . A bird tributary attached to the window helps by bringing bright red-faced cardinals and chickadees to claver . All this take up to an exciting uncovering this year that has renewed my winter windowpane interest .
deoxyephedrine lanterns are my latest passion ! I have had to make several pot because they keep melting . The process is well-fixed : just fill a balloon with urine and put it outside to stop dead . The timing is dodgy : You want to entrance it when the bottom of the balloon is still unfrozen so that you may carve out blank for a votive .

I discovered after a little trial and error that time LED votives are amazing . They come on at 5:00 p.m. and rick off at 10:00 a.m. I also discovered that tally some other frosty cast adds interest . So I used round cake pans , a couple of rectangular pans , and the pieces that broke off to add together to my arrangements . It is quite a transformation for my dormant garden pile and warms my heart from the kitchen windowpane .
