Today ’s photos are from Sunny Montgomery in Peterborough , Ontario . Sunny says,“My garden was a labor of love as it was quite a challenge gardening on this slope down to the lake . I start the construction 5 long time ago . The back hill was just weed so we charter a contractor to install a series of deck and then the orotund stepping Stone down to the lake .
“ When the stones were eat up it was too late to startle the garden so I decided to wait until the next yr . The next natural spring I was horror-struck ! The terra firma - moving equipment used to set up the stone steps had stirred up all of the mourning band seeds and I end up with gage that were ( I ’m not kidding … . ) four to five feet tall ! ! It was such a difficult undertaking . I was working with Brobdingnagian weeds on a hill and I start to wonder “ what the heck was I thinking ? ”
“ I worked one bed at a metre , removing all the sess , planting , installing landscape cloth , and then tot about 4 inches of mulch – everywhere ! The soil was loaded with rocks so I had to remove all of the tilt as well . I did n’t even amend the dirt – I added nothing and just prayed that the dirt would sustain and nourish the extensive planting . It consider two seasons to get everything planted , but I am astonied now every time I look at the gardens . Everything farm beautifully and it ’s been develop tight !

“ I had the same berth in my front gardens as well but I really get rid of the soil to a profundity of about a pes in the front and contribute treble mix everywhere which was much easy to plant in . The major planting is done now and each leap I centre on my annual plantation owner ( about 50 of them ! ) .
“ My garden will be sport on a local garden tour this year and I trust to be able to put up it to couples who would like have modest , internal wedding ceremonies . My bed and breakfastopens in May and I go for the garden will be a major attraction for my guests ! ”
I ’m certain they will be , Sunny ! What a huge , successful labor . Thanks so much for share-out !

I hope everyone in the Northeast is all stocked up on the basic for the snowpocalypse ! remain warm , and take some metre to take some pictures of the snow in your gardens …
