The Asiatic lily ( not to be mix up with the Oriental lilies ) are mostly earlier bloom , hve good flowers and typically have spots and a warmer colour pallette like brilliant orange , yellow , white and pinkish . They also tend to breed more apace than other lilies like Oriental , Trumpets or Orienpets which broadly speaking just have a bulb that gets bigger with each time of year , without variance . A thumping of orange Asiatics ( with some variety show ) can shape a gravid statement clump in just a few age while a 5 - 8 year old trumpet or Orienpet that may have just a pair of bloom on it the first season , may mature to an 6 - 8 foot stem not unlike a Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree with 30 or more flush on it .
In the US and North America there are just a few specialty nurseries that only grow lily or at least , focalise on them . Most also spawn lilies and I extremely recommend starting with these sources as you ’ll get the newest sort and often , the best . I should cite that while the terminus ‘ lily ’ is often used for many plant life , “ lawful lilies ’ are within the genus Lilium ( while daylilies are not lilies at all , but are Hemerocallis – and there are plenty of specialty nurseries who engender and sell day lily , I highly recommend stick out them too ) . The two exist well together , and they both flower around the same sentence of year .
