– Rose ‘ Dr Eckener ’ . I was concerned that this rose had died , so slow was it to get going compared to two others bought at the same time from Peter Beale . It caught up and is now flowering away . The semi - double flowers are fairly overt , pinkish with yellowish sum . It smells fabulous too , although not as inviolable as the ‘ Rosy Madder ’ .

– Hibiscus ‘ Marina ’ , buy as a badly water rescue earlier in the class . I imbed it in what I call back was wad of space but it is now a bit inundate by the nearby helenium and the tithonia . It has blue - ish peak with a purple centre . I ’ll in all likelihood move it later in the class to give it room to breathe .

– Fuchsia sommatorother . Just minds its own job in a small plantation owner on the cheery side of the alley . Nothing special , but passably in a received fuchsia variety of way . These two peak front a chip stress , in fact .

– Clematis finallyflowered . This was a cutting , from what exactly is now a mystery , but it ’s been in a plantation owner in the front garden for a couple of age . It does n’t like drying out so it ’s only since I got around to setting up the irrigation thingamajig that it has perked up . Modern growth and a single flower have been the results so far .

– Compost heap . I built a newfangled pile in an empty bay last weekend . The textile was mostly brought in . Layers of fresh - ish horse manure , spent hops from the local brewery , shred composition board and newspaper , plus some chopped garden waste . Building big in one go like this encourages a very alive jalopy that compost down quicker and at mellow temperature than one construct slowly . It is manipulate away , reach out 60 ° degree centigrade in 5 days . That should be hot enough to put pay to any locoweed seed conceal out in the manure .

– Eye of Sauron . Those of you that postdate along on chirrup may have see to it this before . The latestchanges to the garden layoutare complete now . I am revel using this little seating area . The planting is a bit random , just whatever I had bump around in pots . I ’m looking forwards to it growing on and make a nice hidey - pickle to sit and revel a cupper or a cheeky G&T of an evening .
