There are exciting plants coming our way soon
I am giddy with agitation most of the class to be honest , but I am especially buzzing when I step into the halls at the IPM Essen in Germany , an international deal result for all things horticulture . On it ’s fortieth edition , with 1500 shower and countless new plant and mathematical product launches , I have hired man - picked 6 to watch which should be shoot down on garden centre shelves in the very nigh future !
Tillandsia ‘ Maya ’
For many age , Bromeliads were only really available in the most ‘ fluorescent ’ of wraith , often paired with an equally rainbow container . If such a colour explosion is not for you , then ‘ Maya ’ cope to tone thing down a bit , with a more elegant appearance and bronze - laden shades .

The perfect collaborator for your moth orchidaceous plant , as they have similar growing requirements- bright indirect light and ‘ firm wet ’ , i.e. it ’s ok to forget about them every so often and they ’ll forgive you ! Be racy and plant them together , perhaps !
Azalea ‘ Starstyle ’
You might already be able to discover this beauty out and about . Its slender , spidery flowers provide an totally different coming into court for your springtime garden !

Typically used as a houseplant , Azalea are also stout enough , and calculate awful , when planted in the rockery . I am looking onward to seeing the spring light filtering though those gorgeous petals .
Globee Planter
I have been watching this product for a few seasons now , and hopefully some UK stockists will blame it up shortly . It has a very wide-eyed design , and involve the drama out of planting up a full hanging hoop . Simply slide it in a simple potted plant and away it grows for a levitating smell .

Indoors , alfresco , and the globe will sit in 3 different positions- hanging , free - standing , or free - standing and at a natty angle . I love this one .
Mangave ‘ beg Hands ’
This is a unique Agave hybrid , choose in the USA , and now swash 50 - odd cultivar .

It is built for outdoors and will grow care - free in rockeries , borders and terrace containers . Although , do n’t be afraid to try it as an indoor works too- ‘ Praying Hands ’ is the latest release , sic to be launched at this year RHS Chelsea Flower Show .
Broccoli ‘ Purplelicious ’
Already available from some outlets , this thinker - flex broccoli was quite the spectacle at the IPM this year . Truly amazing color , and could be the best way to get tyke to eat their greens , or rather ‘ purples ’ !

Prudac in The Netherlands really have their digit on the impulse with these fun veg releases , look out for their windowsill garden pea plant in the near future too !
Underground Composter
Plastia Urbalive in Czech Republic have produced a composter which you swallow it into the footing , take with your kitchen wasteland , and let nature do the work for you !

This is the thoroughgoing entry level composter for anyone curious about creating their own gardener ’ gold . Still in its early product level , this is one well deserving keeping an eye on .
