Remembering flowers past
Today we ’re visiting with Colleen Meyer , in Neenah , Wisconsin . We ’ve gossip her garden before ( Colleen ’s New Garden ) , and today I ’m sharing some photos she sent in of her garden back in spring of 2019 .
Thank you for allowing me to partake in again . Here are a few pictures from my garden last spring . That season was very cool , and the flowers endure so long . I live in Neenah , Wisconsin , have been gardening in this location for seven eld , and learn something fresh every year . I continue to learn by trial and error .
Oriental poppy ( Papaverorientale , Zones 3–7 ) and milfoil ( Achilleamillifolium , Zones 4–8 ) . These two reliable perennial for cold climates look fantastic together ! Just remember that Oriental poppy go dormant later on in the summertime , so institute them where other plants will overcompensate the scanty spot they leave behind .

‘ Coral Sunset ’ peony ( Paeonia‘Coral Sunset ’ , zona 3–7 ) . Peonies are one of the great pleasures of gardens in the North . They wo n’t thrive in climate where the winter is too mild , so if they develop for you , treasure them !
Another peony , packed with lush , pink petals .
This marvellous ornamental Allium cepa ( Alliumchristophii , Zones 5–8 ) has vast heads of star - influence flowers . Allium are beautiful and , even better , are not tasty to rabbits , deer , or field mouse .

Clustered bellflower ( Campanulaglomerata , Zones 3–8 ) has wonderful obtuse heads of rich , purple - blue efflorescence .
Though foxglove ( Digitalispurpurea , Zones 4–9 ) is a biyearly , dying after it flowers and sets semen , it can ego - seed in the right condition so you ’ll have its classic steeple of beautiful blooms every class . Just be sure not to put down too wooden-headed a layer of mulch so that the midget semen have a fortune to germinate and develop .
A whitecrocus , always one of the first bloom of spring .

Hellebores ( Helleborushybrid , Zones 4–9 ) are fabled for their ability to flower even through the stale temperatures of later winter and early bounce .
A Robert William Service Charles Edward Berry ( Amelanchierspecies ) is just start to unfurl unexampled leaves and flower bud . These native tree diagram are beloved for their abundant white flowers , but this stage of growth is incredibly endearing as well .
Siberian flag ( Iris sibirica , Zones 3–8 ) andchives(Allium schoenoprasum , Zone 4–8 )
