In a Vase on Monday. Skinny Twigs and Fat Flowers.
My vase today start off with branchlet from the garden . Red and green cornel , black snatch willow tree and wintertime honeysuckle all seemed to go well together .
The honeysuckle , Lonicera purpusii‘Winter Beauty ’ is lovely in a vase and smells toothsome , but it does take off to drop its flower very quickly .

I love the little dim claws ofSalix melanostachys , I do n’t know any other salix with claws like this . The dogwood isCornus alba sibirica‘Westonbirt ’ andCornus sericea‘Flaviramea’But then I had a quick look atCathy ’s vase and see she had picked one of her hyacinths . What a great idea . Once my obese hyacinth flush afford up they start up to fall over . I am ghastly of trying to prop up them up with sticks and Raphia . They expect as if they are wear out a corset and of track they need one . How liberating to cut them all off and put the pots to one side ready for outdoor planting . And so we have some fatty flowers to go with the skinny stick . And the great thing is the sticks support the juicy flowers . I found another vase because the first one is a bit autumnal .
Here is another shot of the salix claw , as they maturate they turn red . I know I am rather rude about these hyacinths but I wish they were n’t quite so rotund . The great thing is though that once planted in the garden they become much twee and I reckon pretty as the year go by . give thanks youCathyfor host the meme and for giving me the idea for my arrangement today . If you contain out Cathy ’s blog you will see that she is endlessly imaginative in choose form of address , peak and property for her musical arrangement . She has inspired multitude from all assault the human race to take part and put some flowers in a vase every monday .

Oh my what a splendid jugful and vase filled with my pet electric light , hyacinth … .can’t waitress to see mine bloom in about 2 months so I too can cut them for a vase .
Obese hyacinth – what an mental image ! I like both incarnations of the vase but , as I ’m addict to color , I choose the second to the first .
Snap . I used red and dark-green twig too , mainly as there is not much else about . I agree about hyacinths , though fragrant they are a nuisance to prop up up so I chopped mine too and they have lasted much longer than I carry in piddle . Yours look brilliant with the sprig and the pretty jug and not at all fatty now .

That ’s a very dainty combination ! I bonk what you imply about the Hyacinths – I commonly end up cut them very short , so the bases of the flower equaliser on the vase edge . But I wish your solvent just as well . That pitcher vase is so pretty !
Your arrangements is beautiful and I ’m sure it is wonderfully fragrant ! 🙂
I like your agreement both ways . What a glorious and fragrant treat !
