prospicient gourds develop over the top

The recollective gourd plants are really taking off . They are now over the top of the gourd trellis or pillar as I wish to call it and fulfil in . They seem to care the heat , humidity and surplus wet we ’ve been getting lately - in fact all the gourds have become bonkers . Caleb is coming over today and after we check the bee , we are going to reward the top of the tower they are grow on as I hear they get extremely dense as they get recollective . They already have some babies growing but not on top where I need them . If they get big enough this calendar month I will put those smaller ones in the State Fair at the end of the calendar month .

Long gourds grow over the top
I read and see from a fellow gardener at the SF Farmers Market that gourds are pollinated by dark pollinator like dark moth . I ’ve never date a honeybee interested in them . We must have some night pollinators here as I have some child fruit growing on them .

I ’m growing three types of gourds this year - elephantine long gourd , giant pear calabash and a mystery calabash ( not sure what type it is but seem like a small Pyrus communis ) . All the gourd seed were super strong ( at least for me ) to pullulate - they take everlastingly to come up and some I had to plant twice , but once they came up and I put them in the garden , they have been gentle keeper and give a sure lushness to the garden without lots of water . They are part of the Curcubita genus which includes , autumn pumpkin , squash and cucumbers . I play you did n’t know pumpkins and squash are part of the gourd kin did you ?
So far none of the gourd seem to pull bugs - like the squash rackets hemipteran , perhaps because of their olfactory property when you handle the leaves . They are kind of stinky but not too tough . But like I said , they are beautiful to look at and the leaves and small furry fruits are fantastic . Both are really soft to the touch , like suede , unlike pumpkin or squeeze whose leaves are rough . They also have beautiful delicate flowers . I ’m really enjoying them so far .
