By Kim Charles
North Carolina garden high spot from Nicole King .
" This was a rewarding yr , with several unexampled projects around the yard . Last fall ’s addition of nine Sunshine ligustrums and distribution of existing Becky shasta daisies and coneflowers in our assorted perennial / shrub / conifer berm move over a more unified and colorful appearance this class along the road . Three side - implant baskets perch on 6 foot posts allowed the planting of colourful annuals that might have otherwise been deer treats . Another project included building a hexagonal planter with a belittled anuran pool in the center . I had no idea that the cannas and elephant ears would grow so massive ; I ’m going to endeavor to mulch them in - primer coat to overwinter ( zona 7b ) . Other exposure include an overhead sight from our second floor , crocosmia and a newspaper bush outside the back porch , Alabama Jubilee daylilies congratulate a solar owl , and a planting of pineapple lily and betony along the pavement . I leave you with my most recent task , a Halloween Fairy Garden within an upcycled function washing machine . My kids were n’t that impressed , but I ’m love it . Happy Fall ! "
